Formed in 1995, the Guild of Fine Food has a mission to support, celebrate, and encourage independent food and drink retailers and the producers that supply them. The Guild of Fine Food publishes Fine Food Digest, Good Cheese, Best Brands and Great Taste Book, the industry’s leading magazines. The Guild organise Great Taste and the World Cheese Awards, run the Fine Food Show North and several Great Taste Markets, as well as train individuals in cheese, deli products and in business matters relating to fine food retail.

With over 1,300 members across the UK, the Guild organises and implements a network of activities designed to promote excellence in all sectors of the trade and build closer links between producers and retailers.

We provide a voice for independent food retailers and producers: lobbying the government through a variety of influential organisations and providing access to expert industry advice and updates through our relationships with partner organisations.

The Great Taste Awards

Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, Great Taste is the world’s largest, longest standing and most respected accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food and drink producers.

Every year, over 14,000 products from more than 100 countries around the world are blind tasted by our expert panel. Every product is assessed purely on taste, and regardless of whether it wins an award, every entry receives constructive feedback.

Winning a Great Taste award encourages confidence and commercial success for small businesses, and generates greater awareness for products locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
