Speciality & Fine Food Fair is excited to announce the return of the highly successful Power Breakfast to our packed content programme. On Wednesday 11 September the Fair will open early for an exclusive Power Breakfast event, in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland, where we will hear from English celebrity chef and multi-award-winning writer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall as he dives into the key topics shaping the food & drink industry. 

This is your chance to get a sneak peak behind the scenes of the industry, explore the current state of the local food market, gain valuable insights into the quiet revolution happening in farm shops and farmers markets across the UK and explore what real local food is and how it can be protected and grown in our culture.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a multi-award-winning writer and broadcaster known for his uncompromising commitment to seasonal, ethically produced food and his concern for the environment. He has earned a huge following through his River Cottage TV series and books, as well as campaigning documentary series such as Hugh’s Fish Fight, Hugh’s War on Waste, Britain’s Fat Fight and War on Plastic with Hugh and Anita. A new River Cottage series, River Cottage Reunited aired in June 2022.

His broadcasting has earned him a BAFTA as well as accolades from Radio 4, The Observer and the Guild of Food Writers and his award-winning books, include the best-selling River Cottage Cook Book and River Cottage Veg Every Day. Hugh’s latest book How to Eat 30 Plants a Week was published in May 2024.

He continues to work as a journalist, writing occasionally for the Guardian, Times and other national newspapers. He is a vice president of Fauna & Flora International and a patron of Switchback, a charity that helps young offenders find opportunities in the catering industry.

The Power Breakfast is invite only for senior retail and hospitality professionals only, and all those who RSVP'd have now been contacted to confirm their place. If you missed the RSVP deadline but would still like to come, please email the team here before Tuesday 10 September at 4pm.
