Entries open for the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards 2026

Entries are now open for the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards 2026, one of the United Kingdom’s most respected platforms for recognising excellence in food and drink writing, broadcasting and photography. The awards continue a long tradition of celebrating individuals whose work brings insight, creativity and authority to the way food and drink stories are told.

Tom Athron, CEO of Fortnum & Mason, comments: "Now in their 14th year, the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards continue to shine a light on the people and stories that enrich our understanding and enjoyment of food and drink. Each year, the talent and creativity we see are truly inspiring and a reflection of Britain’s ever-evolving food and drink culture. Our heartfelt thanks go to our expert judges for their time, wisdom and enthusiasm in championing these exceptional voices, and our very best wishes to everyone who enters the 2026 Awards."

First established in 2013, the awards showcase achievements across books, journalism, audio, visual media and digital content. The 2025 ceremony illustrated the breadth and quality of talent working within the sector. Last year’s winners included a range of authors, journalists, chefs, broadcasters and photographers whose contributions demonstrated the depth and diversity of food and drink culture in the United Kingdom. Categories recognised work exploring subjects such as global culinary traditions, specialist drinks knowledge, personal narratives within food media and contemporary approaches to recipe writing.

The 2025 winning titles reflected this variety. They included books that examined beer through a cultural lens and works that delved into the meaning and history of breakfast traditions in China. The awards also highlighted achievements in broadcasting, photography and emerging digital formats, reinforcing the value of strong storytelling across both traditional and new media.

Entrants for the 2026 awards are invited to submit work that demonstrates originality, accuracy, authenticity and a clear contribution to the national food and drink conversation. Eligible submissions include books, articles, programmes, podcasts, photography and other published or broadcast material released during the qualifying period.

Nicola Woods, Event Manager for Speciality & Fine Food Fair, comments on the importance of recognising those who contribute to the public understanding of food and drink: “Writers, broadcasters and photographers play a vital role in shaping how people engage with our industry. Their work informs, inspires and often introduces new audiences to artisan producers and specialist food creators. Celebrating their achievements is essential and we are pleased to support awareness of these awards.”

Full details on categories, eligibility and deadlines are now available through the official Fortnum and Mason Awards entry portal. Entrants are encouraged to submit their work during the application window.
