Kirkwood is a 500 acre farm in South Scotland. Trading as RealFarmMeat we produce beef and lamb and we have worked, over two decades, on all factors that make meat taste good: age of animal, hanging of carcass, breed of animal, feed eaten during life, farming organically, minimal stress (especially at slaughter), no overuse of drugs, supplements, chemicals etc, farming hand-in-hand with nature – regeneratively. Attention to detail on all these factors now seems to produce the most delicious meat...

In 2020 we invited 21 Michelin Star chefs to sample our lamb – shh'annu – and an amazing 20 of these reported back it was “superb”. Two rang back immediately with almost the same words “As a Michelin Star restaurant, we are sent hundreds of samples, but we've never had anything as good as this!” 14 asked to buy, and since then we have sold to 25 of the UK's top restaurants, including the best in Scotland, Wales and London.


Most Michelin Star restaurants only want the racks/saddles/loins, so we have created 3 products from the lesser cuts – lam'sagne®, shh'annu Scotch Pies, & shh'annu haggis - which are made by local artisan producers. We'll only ever have a limited supply of these, but they are well worth trying!

To prepare for this exciting launch, the Fair will not be taking place in 2026, returning in its new format in 2027.

While the scale grows, the heart of the Fair stays the same - a curated showcase of exceptional producers and a spirit of discovery, now with even greater commercial reach.
