Bertha's Pizza
Bertha’s Pizza began with a backyard oven, a blog, and a mission: to make world-class pizza. What started as an experiment with a Sheffield-steel, brick-lined oven nicknamed Bertha quickly grew into a journey that took us across the world, training with legendary pizza makers, and eventually back to Bristol where we opened our restaurant.

Since then, Bertha’s has become a cornerstone of the UK pizza scene. Recognised in the Times Top 50 Pizzerias and one of only a handful of pizzerias listed in the Good Food Guide UK, our restaurant has built a reputation for serving sourdough pizza of the highest quality. Every pizza is hand-stretched, baked at over 500°C in a Neapolitan oven, and made with carefully sourced ingredients – UK high-welfare meats, proper vegetarian cheeses, and produce that’s chosen for flavour rather than cost.

Eighteen months ago, we took a bold step: to bring that same restaurant-grade pizza into the frozen aisle. The challenge was simple – make frozen pizza that doesn’t taste like frozen pizza. We start with 100% sourdough, proved for more than 48 hours, hand-stretch every base, and cook at extreme heat before freezing. The result? A pizza that goes from freezer to plate in 10 minutes and delivers the fresh restaurant experience at home.

Our frozen range – including favourites like the Margherita, Meat + Heat with chilli honey, Hamageddon, Napoli, and vegan Rossa – is now stocked in more than 40 premium independents, from Dart’s Farm to Burford Garden Centre and Teal’s. Customers tell us it’s “not just a frozen pizza… but top-notch takeaway at home.”

But Bertha’s is more than just pizza. Each product comes wrapped in bold record-sleeve packaging, paired with a curated indie playlist. It’s food with personality, designed to stand out in a crowded frozen aisle. We’re also innovating with new launches such as frozen sourdough dough balls, giving home cooks the same long-ferment base we use in our restaurant.

Whether for farm shops, delis, wedding venues, or national retailers, Bertha’s offers something truly distinct: restaurant pizza, no reservations required.

The Next Chapter for Speciality & Fine Food Fair

From 2027, Speciality & Fine Food Fair will take place 5 – 7 April at Excel London, as part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week to be the UK’s largest food & drink trade event.

This exciting move will connect our incredible community of speciality producers and buyers with 25,000+ verified trade visitors, creating even more opportunities for products to be discovered, tasted and stocked by buyers across retail, hospitality, wholesale and foodservice.

To prepare for this exciting launch, the Fair will not be taking place in 2026, returning in its new format in 2027.

While the scale grows, the heart of the Fair stays the same - a curated showcase of exceptional producers and a spirit of discovery, now with even greater commercial reach.

We’re incredibly excited about this next chapter and can’t wait to build it with you.
