Norfolk Mushroomery
Norfolk Mushroomery is a Norfolk based mushroom product, small family business. We began growing mushrooms during the pandemic for our own use, very soon neighbours and friends asked for mushrooms too and so in July 2023 Norfolk Mushroomery was born. Taking part in local farmers markets and food festivals we soon found that customers were hungry for mushroom based products. We created our mushroom risotto in a jar, and launched it at the Worstead Festival in 2024.
It has been a great success with those living in rural communities wanting something quick, easy and delicious. In 2025, it was selected as a finalist in Speciality & Fine Food Awards in the New Product category. We have also curated a popular range of functional mushroom coffees, cacao and matcha. Early 2025 it became apparent that too many of the fresh mushrooms went to waste when the blocks fruited early in the week and our markets were on the weekends. We trialled many ways of making snacks with our Monday-thru-Thursday mushrooms and soon Mushroom Jerky was born. Following successful taste-tests with locals at the farmers markets, we feel we now have a great, sustainable vegetarian snack in Original and Spicy flavours.
We work with a closed loop production growing on locally sourced waste coffee and straw, and master mixes.
All mushrooms are used in the production of our products and our substrate goes back to the earth through composting initiatives in the local community. We are close to becoming zero waste.
