Singaporean-born Megan Tan, a former finance lawyer in London, launched Homi Kitchen during the COVID-19 lockdown after cooking "bak chor mee" for a homesick friend. What began as weekend supper clubs serving Singaporean comfort food soon evolved into a food brand. In 2025, she launched her Hainanese Chicken Rice Chilli Sauce, which is now stocked in select London stores including Raya Grocery in Borough Market. Her next product, a black pepper sauce from the famous Singapore Black Pepper Crab, is in development. Though her career shift surprised her family, Megan finds deep fulfillment in sharing Singaporean flavours and building something meaningful from scratch.
