The company, founded by Christine Lee Wing and Damian Corneal, won a prestigious two-star for Doux Doux (a chayote and tamarind hot sauce) and a one-star for Jeez an Ages (an apple and mango hot sauce).
A total of 13,672 products were blind-tasted at the world’s most coveted food and drink awards. Judges praised Callaloo Corner for “raucous aromas,” “rich texture,” and “remarkable flavours.”
Doux Doux was described as having “loads going on… sweetness and orange, followed by tamarind saltiness and sourness, smokiness and truly delicious, lingering chilli heat. We can think of no improvements!”
Handmade in small batches using scotch bonnet peppers, fruits, fresh herbs, and spices – with no additives – Callaloo Corner’s sauces celebrate Trinidadian family heritage while offering bold, modern flavour.
Christine said: “We are thrilled to have won two Great Taste awards. Less than two years ago we started in our kitchen at home, making sauces with love born from our Trinidadian heritage. To be where we are today is truly a dream come true.”
Damian added: “Being recognised with a Great Taste two-star means so much to independent producers. Great Taste is the most recognised accolade for taste and quality in the food and drink industry, so this is a huge moment for us.”
Callaloo Corner’s award-winning sauces are now retail-ready, with distinctive packaging and strong shelf appeal – perfect for buyers seeking authentic, quality Caribbean flavour.
