Darran is a seasoned retail professional with nearly 30 years’ experience across national retailers and independent farm shops. His career spans shop floor management, regional development, and head office roles, giving him a deep understanding of both the strategic and practical needs of food and retail businesses. He has led national projects focused on retail development, training, and operational standards, working alongside internal teams, apprenticeship schemes, and Investors in People to deliver meaningful, sustainable improvements. As a Programme Delivery Manager, he oversaw the implementation of wide reaching operational initiatives across the UK food retail sector.

At Fresh Retail, Darran supports clients by combining industry insight with practical delivery solutions helping businesses review operations, implement new systems, and upskill teams through hands-on support and training. He sits at the intersection of technology and real-world retail, translating complex challenges into simple, actionable solutions. Currently completing a degree in Business and Computing with a focus on networking and cybersecurity, Darran brings a technical lens to Fresh Retail’s growing focus on physical and cyber resilience exploring the risks and opportunities in a way that makes sense to everyday operations.
