With plant based and high protein diets both surging, there's huge demand for plant based, protein-rich foods — Cue, lots of plant based products (meat alternatives, cereals, desserts, etc) fortified with added protein. But now the holy grail is 'clean label' plant based protein — that is to say, products that don't seem over 'processed' or artificial. Where their protein fix is concerned, consumers look for naturally occurring, whole plants which are rich in protein — e.g. tofu, chickpeas, hemp: peas, lentils or nuts. We look at what can be done with the multitude of products available
