Fortnum & Mason launches first-ever Fortnum & Makers Open Call: A nationwide search for Britain’s brightest food and drink talent

Iconic British retailer Fortnum & Mason has launched its inaugural Fortnum & Makers Open Call – a unique opportunity for undiscovered, new, and expanding food and drink producers across the UK to secure a coveted place on the shelves of its Piccadilly store.

Open from 25th April to 16th May 2025, the Fortnum & Makers Open Call invites talented UK-based makers in five categories – Bakery, Confectionery, Drinks, Grocery, and Tea & Coffee – to submit their products for consideration through a short online entry form. Successful entrants will have the chance to become a Fortnum’s supplier and showcase their creations alongside the exceptional artisan products that define the Fortnum & Mason experience.

Building on the success of the Fortnum & Makers programme, which has historically championed artists and homeware craftspeople, this new focus on food and drink signals the next chapter in Fortnum’s centuries-long commitment to supporting craftsmanship, innovation, and the finest quality.

Liz Morgan, Director of Buying for Food, Wine & Spirits at Fortnum & Mason said: "At Fortnum’s, we are passionate about extraordinary food and drink, and committed to celebrating the makers who pour their craft into every bite and sip, so we are delighted to launch this nationwide search for the very best producers.”

"We know it can be difficult for small producers to get their products in front of buying teams, and this Open Call allows these artisans to do exactly that."

CELEBRATING BRITAIN’S ARTISANS

Across the length and breadth of the UK, kitchen tables, craft breweries, small bakeries and family farms are home to extraordinary makers, and Fortnum’s is on a mission to discover them.

Bakery

From jewel-like macarons and delicate patisserie to sourdoughs with wild fermentation stories and lovingly hand-iced cakes - Fortnum’s bakery buyers are standing ready to discover and devour the next delicious marvel rising in an oven somewhere across Britain.

Drinks

The UK’s brewing and distilling pedigree is unmatched. Whether it's small-batch spirits, inventive soft drinks infused with botanicals, or beers brewed in the foothills of the Highlands, Fortnum’s is seeking out those bottling brilliance.

Confectionery

There’s always room for something sweet at Fortnum’s. The buyers are looking for handmade fudges and caramels, nostalgic toffees and marzipans, artisanal chocolate bars, and inventive new treats – the kind of confectionery that tells a story with every bite.

Grocery

From pantry-perfect jams made from foraged fruits to award-winning chutneys and nibbles packed with flavour, Fortnum’s is excited to uncover the savoury and sweet innovations destined to become its future favourites.

Tea & Coffee

As experts in the fine art of tea since 1707, Fortnum’s is seeking uplifting new brews, refreshing cold infusions, exceptional small-batch coffees, and unique tea blends - crafted with the devotion, innovation, and flavour that our customers love.

Entrants must be ready with retail-ready packaging and products that reflect exceptional quality, excellent ingredients, ethical sourcing, and sustainability. Finalists will be invited to present their products in person at Fortnum’s Piccadilly store in early June 2025, with final selections announced by mid-July. Winners will see their products stocked in-store for a minimum of three months and will also be given opportunities to engage directly with Fortnum’s customers through events and tastings.
