Fil, short for filfil (Arabic for 'pepper'), aims to spread Shatta worldwide! Created by three Palestinian co-founders - two brothers and a friend - Fil celebrates Palestine’s rich culture through food. Shatta, a traditional chilli condiment from Gaza, is a staple on most Palestinian tables. Unable to find fresh, high-quality Shatta in Europe, the founders took matters into their own hands. Versatile, flavourful, and unique, Fil's Shatta adds spice to any dish.

 

Fil makes traditional Palestinian Shatta with a contemporary twist. Crafted using simple, high-quality ingredients and no preservatives, our Shatta is fresh, spicy, and deeply rooted in generations of Palestinian food culture. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, Fil’s Shatta is made to a standard even Teta (Grandma) would be proud of.

We also innovate, creating the first-of-their-kind Shatta-based products like Shatta Jam and Shatta Hot Sauce.

Our range includes five distinct products: Bird's Eye, Jalapeño, and Habanero Shatta, plus two zero-waste products - Shatta Jam and Shatta Hot Sauce. The first three conform to tradition, each defined by its namesake chilli and providing a fresh, spicy, and pure flavour. Shatta Jam, a contemporary take, has a delicious sweet and spicy flavour. The Shatta Hot Sauce offers the same pure, delicious flavour as Shatta but in the convenient form of a table sauce.
