Foie Royale Entier series is an ethical and sustainable alternative to foie gras. It was developed to create not only the flavour of foie gras, but also the natural texture in the mouth. This feel is achieved by using different batches, layered to deliver the rich depth of flavour and a more natural looking product.
As many European countries, including Germany, began the process of banning forced feeding or gavage of animals, our team at Foie Royale was inspired to look into how they could create a product that tasted and behaved like traditional foie gras but was made from natural livers harvested from free range birds raised for their meat, bred outdoors, and not forced fed.
The hard challenge of how to mix the bird's natural liver with its fat to produce a product as good as foie gras was addressed in collaboration with numerous famous research institutes, including DIL, The Institute of Food Technology. Foie Royale was built using cutting-edge technologies. As a result, the product has the same texture, melt-in-your-mouth sensation, and flavour as foie gras, and it may be eaten cold or cooked in a variety of ways.
The ducks and geese are bred on farms in Germany in an ethical manner and are permitted to roam freely from a young age. For their safety, they are housed in barns at night. They do not have their wings or beaks clipped, and they are fed organically. When the birds are slain for their meat and the small, undamaged liver and fat are removed and used to begin the Foie Royale process.
