Great Taste Awards 2014

The Great Taste Award overall winners of 2014 will be announced on Monday 8th September.

Be the first to find out who won and source the product for your outlet at the Fair. A Great Taste Award accolade dramatically increases sales of the products it is attributed to.

PLUS - all Top 50 2014 finalists will be showcased at Speciality & Fine Food Fair. Come along and see them for yourself and sample them on the Guild of Fine Food stand - stand 908.

On Stand 908 the team from the Guild of Fine Food will be on hand to explain how the Guild works closely with retailers, producers, buyers and the fine food sector as a whole.  From Cheese Training to Retail Ready, the team at the Guild understands the world of artisan, fine and speciality food and there’s plenty of guidance and help available to new deli owners and producers. The team from Fine Food Digest will also be available to discuss the current trends and developments in the world of fine food.

Visit the Great Taste Deli at Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2014, stand 910 - after a successful first outing last year, the new and enlarged Great Taste Deli will be located alongside the Guild of Fine Food’s stand, which will be close to the main entrance to the show – shining a spotlight on The Great Taste stars of 2014.

Dates for the diary...

Sunday 7th and Monday 8th September – visitors to the show are invited to taste some of the Top 50 Foods in the UK.

Tuesday 9th September – the Great Taste Deli will welcome the Great Taste Supreme Champion, with tastings of the product that will be crowned Supreme Champion, at the glittering Great Taste Dinner the night before.

Great Taste is quite simply the stamp of approval for great-tasting food & drink. It is the UK’s largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for food producers. Since 1994 over 80,000 products have been blindjudged by top chefs, cookery writers, food critics, restaurateurs and fine food retailers. Every product you find has been tried and tasted by at least 16 individuals in order to earn its star-rating.

Texture, appearance, quality of ingredients and how the producer has put the product together are all very important. But above all it’s all about truly great taste. Remember, it’s not about smart packaging or clever marketing. It’s all about TASTE.

“When I’m looking for something special, the first thing I want to know is ‘How delicious is this going to be?’ In a world of confusing labels, the Great Taste Awards are a genuine force for good.”

Alex James, farmer and Blur bassist

“I’ve been part of the Great Taste Awards judging for a few years now and I know how exacting and scrupulous the process is. Any food that has won a Great Taste Gold is officially delicious. It’s as simple as that.”

Lucas Hollweg, Sunday Times

“I’ve been involved with the judging process and know the rigorous stages that each product goes through to be awarded the star rating. This gives consumers reassurance that whatever has the black and gold label, is of the highest quality and tastes wonderful.”
