New recipe yogurts strike UK Gold for Jersey Dairy

Jersey Dairy has scooped top awards at one of the largest agricultural shows in England, and beaten some major dairy producers in the process. The 2011 Royal Bath & West Show took place between1 – 4 June has been hailed as one of the best in recent years with well over 160,000 visitors enjoying glorious sunshine.

Jersey Dairy won a total of three rosettes at The Royal Bath & West Show – two gold rosettes for yogurt and one bronze rosette for Unsalted Jersey Butter

Yogurt: Gold rosette
Stirred Yogurt made with whole cows' milk or skimmed cows' milk
• Luxury Strawberry
• Luxury Lemon Curd
• Luxury Rhubarb

Yogurt: Gold rosette
Natural Stirred Yogurt made with whole cows' milk or skimmed cows' milk

Unsalted Butter: Bronze
Two 250g portions of Unsalted Creamery Butter (roll or brick)

Janet Wyatt, Head of Quality, said: “This is great start to the season for Jersey Dairy. Thanks to the work and comments of our tasting panel and further independent research we have completed some development work on our Yogurt ranges. This major agricultural show is the first time that we have tested these changes against the best in the UK market. To secure two gold awards first time out justifies all that work.”
There were over 70 classes in the dairy section of the show alone. Jersey Dairy was up against a variety of competing products but each award is made based on the merit of that product and not as a comparison between those in the class. Amongst the competition for the yogurt awards were Bv Dairy and Brown Cow Organics.
