HOTELS AND CATERING ORGANISATIONS OFFERED “THE WORLD’S HIGHEST QUALITY TEA BAGS”

Hotels and catering organisations are being given the chance to provide a range of Chinese teas made from what are claimed to be the highest quality tea bags ever produced.

That’s because LPV International, the company behind the Lu Lin brand, has just launched what’s believed to be the world’s first cubed products of this kind.

The company is stressing, however, that its innovations don’t come at premium prices.

Hans Verhoosel, LPV director, explained: “Following the success of products such as sugar and stock cubes, we’re now bringing the shape to tea bags, for very good reasons.

“Traditionally-shaped bags can’t contain whole leaf tea as it would be too cramped to brew properly within their confines, the result being a massive loss of flavour.

“That space constraint helps explain why conventionally-shaped tea bags usually contain poorer quality ingredients, which don’t need much room to brew.

“Now, however, the innovative design means our Lu Lin Tea Cubed bags contain only premium whole leaf tea. This is hand-picked, chemical-free and comes in bags which don’t lose their shape during brewing.”

Mr Verhoosel said his company was therefore enabling hotels and catering organisations to supply their customers with the best flavours possible, but with all the convenience people associated with tea bags, giving them the perfect blend of luxury, comfort and taste.

Eight varieties are available in the initial Tea Cubed range: Long Jing, Jasmine Dragon Pearls, Fujian Oolong, Ginseng Oolong, Keemun Breakfast, Lapsang Souchong, Puerh and Puerh with Lavender.

Mr Verhoosel pointed out that the durability of the tea bags meant the Tea Cubed range came at competitive costs, compared with conventional offerings.

He said: “Established products typically demand the use of one bag per person per pot. In contrast, each of our bags produces enough tea for at least three whole pots.

“This means each pot costs around 30 pence, despite the bags being made from nylon and heat-sealed, with the high-quality packaging guaranteeing maximum freshness.”

Orders can be placed via email wholesale@lulin-teas.com or telephone +44 (0) 1904 898688 with next working day delivery to most parts of Britain promised for orders placed before 2pm.

Mr Verhoosel said: “We expect the Tea Cubed range to have a variety of applications, including conveying an up-market image by being made available in hotel bedrooms.”

“Hotels and catering organisations can ‘white label’ the new bags, selling them under their own brand names, if they wish. We can supply them with bespoke packaging or custom-designed tea ware, where required.”

Lu Lin, which means “green forest” in Chinese, was launched last year, after Mr Verhoosel and his colleagues became disappointed with the quality of loose-leaf tea available in Britain. The range contains Chinese teas noted for their strength, quality and diversity, sourced from a carefully-selected group of small and medium-sized farmers.
The company also supplies teapots, hot water jugs and infuser mugs.

On top of providing top quality teas, Lu Lin supplies a wealth of knowledge, guidance and training covering subjects from developing a balanced tea menu to what pots to use, free-of-charge. They also train waiting staff, as today’s increasingly sophisticated customer expects them to know about teas in some detail.

Mr Verhoosel said the Tea Cubed launch would be supplemented by a PR campaign, which would help raise awareness and create demand for the products among consumers.
