For this reason the European Union included this area in the system of PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) to protect and promote worldwide this particular olive oil. Only oils witha precise origin claim to be beneficial to health and carry their full flavour. European oils have established a DOP system (Protected Denomination of Origin) that guarantees where olives are grown, and at the same time controls the actual farming, milling and bottling process. A top olive oil shall carry the Name and address of the producer, as well ast hte statement that it is produced and bottled or estate bottled. This high value olive oil juice is the result of both traditional olive growing methods and ideal climate conditions. This olive oil maintains its discreet aroma and fruity flavour.
